Merve Yıldıran was born in Ankara in 1985. She graduated from Ankara University, Faculty of Communication (ILEF), Department of Radio, Television, and Cinema. She completed her Master’s degree at Anadolu University, Department of Visual Communication Design. She has worked as a writer, director, and designer on documentary and independent film projects. Her short films have been featured in the selections of many local and international film festivals, winning various awards. In addition to her film work, she has written theater plays and designed puppets, characters, costumes, and sets. Her first book, Hedgehog Girl, which she visualized with her puppet designs, was published in 2015. Having considered stories and nature as her compass since her childhood years—when she dreamed of becoming a "feeling"—Merve Yıldıran continues her work in the fields of art and literature by establishing interdisciplinary connections under their guidance.
